Wayne County’s farmers are wrapping up a challenging year. While local crops are being harvested, harvest delays in other areas of the country continues to impact crop prices, adding yet another layer of uncertainty. Depressed milk prices have impacted not only the farmers themselves, but all of the businesses that support milk production such as machinery and equipment dealers, builders, feed, seed and supply businesses as well as veterinarians, accountants and other consultants.

Thanksgiving Day -no classes, offices closed
Thanksgiving Day is a communal celebration marked as a sense of gratitude people feel for all the good things in life.. The fourth Thursday in the month of November is marked for the yearly celebration.

OSU Extension, Ashland County will be moving to its new location during the month of November. We will be housed in the new Ashland County Service Center which was the former Heartland Home.

4-H Member and Volunteer Recognition Banquet
4-H members, volunteers and their families will join together on Thursday, November 5 to celebrate their accomplishments from the past program year. Almost 200 are registered for this year's banquet to be held at Park Street Brethren Church.

Ashland Agronomy Day slated for January 28
Pesticide Applicator credit (PAT) will be given for attending Ashland Agronomy Day on January 28, 2010. The session will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. at Mozelle Hall on the Ashland County Fairgrounds.
